Pues en dura pugna con "El Corte Inglés", ¡las fiestas navideñas ya están aquí!, creo, que antes que en estos grandes almacenes, aunque cada vez se anticipan mas e igual hace ya un par de meses que ya es Navidad en El Corte Inglés y yo sin enterarme.Pues desde hace tiempo, me gusta en esta recta final del año poner algo que consiga abstraerte de esa vorágine consumista y que sirva de refugio a los "objetores navideños" como yo. Así pues, vamos a tener durante bastantes semanas esta colección que hoy inauguramos.
Ya hace un par de años publiqué la colección en 12 volúmenes "Star Club singles complete" y me sorprendió la gran acogida que tuvo, y no era para menos pues era una serie para quitarse la boina, y desde entonces ya me rondaba por la cabeza postear todos los Lp´s que sacó el mítico sello germano "Star Club".
Al final vamos a tener cuarenta Lp´s, repartidos en cuatro partes de diez cada una, y publicadas cada dos semanas para no agobiar demasiado y dar paso a los nuevos proyectos de este blog.
Todo ha sido como un gran puzle, tenía bastantes discos, pero también me faltaban un buen número de ellos, así que usando el comodón del e-mail, lo he ido completando, así que es de rigor agradecer la ayuda recibida de Antoni, Fuzzy Daddy, Mr. Eliminator y Jancy, sin los cuales "nada de esto hubiese sido posible", (esta frase me la acabo de inventar).
La historia del sello no está demasiado clara, aunque para información, os remito a los citados "Star Club singles complete", y así no me repito, aunque resumiendo decir que el sello nace gracias a "Manfred Weissleder" y "Horst Fascherque" que en 1962 abrieron el legendario local de mismo nombre en Hamburgo en el que tocaron los mejores artistas tanto británicos y alemanes, amén de grandes figuras venidas de América.
Dos años después crean el sello discográfico, subsidiario de "Phillips" y hasta 1968 van sacando discos, la mayoría singles, predominando la música beat, aunque al principio sobre todo sacaron varios Lp´s de los gigantes del blues y rock and roll norteamericanos.
La historia comienza con un Lp recopilatorio de presentación de Phillips, "Star-Club Informationsplatte" compartiendo sello con Star Records y donde muestran claramente por donde iban a tirar.
En estos primeros diez volúmenes, encontramos entre otros a las pujantes banda británicas como "Ian and The Zodiacs" o "The Liverbirds", junto a los germanos "Rattles", grupo mimado del sello y los monstruos "Ray Charles" o "Little Richard" entre otros.
Algunos de estos disco eran reediciones sacadas del catálogo de "Phillips" o de otros sellos.
